Heh, yeah, so...

I got busy for a while… ;)

The wedding was completely and utterly awesome. Thanks to everyone who came, we had a terrific time with you all!

The holidays were hectic, as usual. We’ve been running around like crazy, between going to NJ, San Francisco, and NY, it’s been… interesting. :P We’re enjoying a nice quiet weeked home this weekend, other than the fact that my final project for my class is due Monday. Bleh.

Anyway, if you want to know what else is occupying my time, it’s this:

:)

Less than 5 weeks to go... :D

I just answered an email about the final plans for our wedding from the innkeeper. We’re getting so excited!!!

Also, I’ve been on a diet for the last month or so, and have lost about 15 pounds so far. :)

Good stuff all around.

Impatient!

We’re getting closer to the wedding, and we’ve got pretty much everything done except for the flowers, which will be sorted out in mid-September. We’ve also been getting RSVP cards back, yay!

Jon and I are really excited. We can’t wait!

Wedding stuff (and a short kitteh update)

New update on the wedding website (karenandjon.net). I’m far too lazy to repost it here. ;)

Also? Trilly is doing great, and as long as all of the tests come back ok, she should be given a clean bill of health. Hooray!!!

iPhone'D!

I got an iPhone! It’s freaking awesome. :)

Yep, still sick.

Let’s see:
  • Headache: check
  • Tiredness (can be extreme): check
  • Cough: check
  • Sore throat: check
  • Runny or stuffy nose: check (yes, both)
  • Body aches: check
  • Diarrhea: check

Know what those are the symptoms of? The motherfuckin’ flu, that’s what. The only thing I don’t have is a fever, and I very rarely ever get fevers (go go shitty immune system). Honestly, I haven’t wanted to do anything whatsoever for the past week. Not playing video games, not watching movies, nothing.

I don’t want to be sick anymore. Think good thoughts for me.

Sick :(

Bleh. So much for a fun weekend of camping. I’ve been hacking up a lung since Tuesday night. No camping for me. :(

Jon’s been taking really good care of me, though. I love that man.

Trilly and Wedding

What he said. :)

She’s barfed 2 out of two times we’ve tried to give her the liquid medication. So we’ll likely be cutting down on her meds (with the vet’s blessing, of course).

In other news, we got our invitations in today. They’re awesome! YAY! :D

And in other school news...

I’ve gotten an A in both classes I took this year. :) Yay!

Congrats, Kris!

My sister graduated from high school today. I’m awfully proud of her. Not that we actually got to see it, since it was originally scheduled for yesterday, but postponed due to weather. It’s the thought that counts, though, right?

I am never taking the cat anywhere ever again. She was MISERABLE the entire time in the car.

Other than that, feeling a bit overwhelmed and stressed out at the moment. I’m sure it will pass.

Wedding stuffs!

We ordered our wedding rings and wedding invites (and picked out our thank you notes) last night. Eeeeeeee! :D

The rings (they are titanium):
Mine:

Jon’s:

We’ve also decided on inscriptions:
On mine:
2.71828182845904523536 10.4.2008
On Jon’s:
K+J=<3^∞ 10.4.2008

The invites:

I like the minimalist approach with these (not to mention the tree savings). No fancy insert cards, pieces of tissue paper, invitation enclosures, extra envelopes, etc. Just the invitation and a postcard for RSVP. :)

The thank yous:

You’ll notice these coordinate with our Save the Date magnets:

I’m so freaking excited!!! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! :D

Trilly likes a/c, too.

We finally made it to PetSmart today and among other things we grabbed a package of Pill Pockets.

Ok, holy crap, everyone who said these are awesome: Yes, yes they are! That was so much better than straddling her and shoving the pill shooter into her mouth (a necessary evil while she wasn’t eating on her own). I gave her some regular Greenies afterward, and she nearly took off my finger. :P

Also, we has a/c. The first thing the cat did when we put in the living room a/c was sprawl out on the coffee table with her belly toward the fan. :D

(And yes, I’ve been a little obsessed with the cat. Oh well.)

Trillybear

She’s doing really well, actually. :D

She’s eating about half a can of food every day on her own now, but we’re still feeding her through the feeding tube as well as giving her water… I haven’t seen her drink yet, but that may just be because she’s already being hydrated through the feeding tube. Her nose is getting pinker, which means she’s finally starting to clear out the bilirubin (the blood test that was done on Wednesday said her liver values weren’t changing, but I bet there will be a big difference when she gets a retest next Sunday since we can see a visible difference in her color).

We took her off the pain medication (which she hated… it was an oral medication that couldn’t be added to the feeding tube) after the vet appointment, since the vet said she was letting her do a thorough exam of her abdomen, and was apparently no longer in pain. As I said before, we took her off the anti-nausea meds, and there’s been no sign of nausea (and we’ve been feeding her rather quickly with slightly cold food in an effort to cool her down during the past two 90+ days). As the vet said, since her liver isn’t functioning properly, the less meds we give her, the better. She still doesn’t like the feeding tube all that much, but tolerates it. She still hates the pill, though. We found one on the rug today that she’d spit out. :P

She’s been hanging out in the dining room all weekend because of how hot it’s been. Hopefully once we get our a/cs from Jon’s parents’ house, she’ll have a better reason to chill (heh) with us in the living room.

Trilly's Follow-up

Kitty is eating! Like a little freaking piggie! She’s eaten half a can of Meox Mix today. We stopped giving her the nausea medication because she still hasn’t vomited in a week, and now she’s going to town on the food. We think maybe the anti-emetic might have been acting like an appetite suppressant?

She went in for her follow-up appointment today. She gained about a pound and a half since we brought her in two weeks ago, and the vet is pleased with her progress. She took blood to check her liver values, and proclaimed that she looks less yellow. The rewrapped her neck and e-tube, and sent us home about 20 minutes after we got there.

I also got a pill shooter. While she still didn’t enjoy it, I at least didn’t get my fingers chomped on. She drooled all over me. Bleh.

But yeah, she’s doing well! We’re really happy. :D

Trillster

Trilly is doing ok. I keep expecting her to be the same cat she was before, and keep having to remind myself that she’s really sick and it will be some time before she’s back to normal. She’ll do her normal Trillybutt things and I’ll get excited, and then she’ll spend hours in the closet hiding and I’ll remember that even though we’re ready for her to be better, she’s not. Not yet.

But she is doing well. We had to clean out her e-tube today with Coke, as it was a bit clogged (yep, you read that correctly). We had some difficulty getting her to take her pill this morning (and I have a nice deep little gouge in my palm to show for it). We’ll ask the vet tomorrow at her follow-up appointment about getting a pill shooter.

She continues to wake us up in the morning by settling on our chests. it’s a really nice way to wake up, even if it’s always an hour before our alarm clock goes off. :)
